Come on down to Grande Cache for Canada Long for some paddling and festives! There will be paddling on Saturday & Sunday (with possibility of a group of keeners paddling on Friday and Monday, but nothing definite planned)
Camping (tent walk in) is available on the lawn of the Grande Cache hotel from Friday night to Monday morning, and hotel rooms are available at the Grande Cache hotel which can be booked here: www.grandecachehotel.com. There are washroom facilities available inside of the hotel for campers, and showers and an awesome pool available a short walk down the street at the Grande Cache Recreation centre.
For kids, there is a fantastic spray park and playground at the Recreation Centre, and a great beach / dock / playground at the Grande Cache Lake.
Canada Day festivities include a show-and-shine, parade, carnival, pie eating contests, BBQ, kids remote control car race, face painting, and balloon tying.
Beginners are welcome to attend and join the festivities (hiking, biking, camping, swimming) but there is unlikely to be a leader-led easier Class 1-2 run. The Grande Cache Lake offers a flat water location to get on the water. Alternatively, the Sundre Festival is occurring over the same weekend and welcomes the class 1-2 paddler.
