AWA - 2026 Winter Whitewater Cup

January 10th & 11th, 2026 - Kinsmen Sports Centre & WEM Wave Pool

Join us for the Winter Whitewater Challenge – a weekend of multi-discipline paddlesport fun, skill-building, and friendly competition!

Event Details:

• Saturday, January 11th: 13:00 AM – 6:00 PM at Kinsmen Sports Centre Pool
• Sunday, January 12th: 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM at West Edmonton Mall Wave Pool

Activities Include:

• Freestyle
• Kayak Cross
• Canoe Polo
• Slalom Racing

Who Can Participate?

• Youth ages 10 to 18 years
• No experience needed in specific disciplines
• Must be able to perform a consistently confident wet-exit (important to practice this beforehand with your club pool sessions!)
• Participants grouped by age and skill level

What’s Provided?

• Equipment (boats, paddles, etc.)
• Snacks and drinks for keeping us going – long day Saturday!
• Opportunities for learning, fun, and meeting other paddlers!
• Connection to Alberta’s Paddlesport Disciplines

Location:

• Kinsmen Sports Centre: Edmonton river valley – free parking
• West Edmonton Mall: Access through Fire Exit C on the south side of the water park

This event is proudly organized by the Alberta Canoe Polo Association, Alberta Slalom, Alberta Playboaters League, Edmonton Whitewater Paddlers, and the Alberta Whitewater Association.
